Amadora BD, formerly known as FIBDA, is the main comics festival in Portugal and a key event on the European comics scene. Created in 1989, it brings together artists, writers and industry professionals from all over the world, promoting interaction with the public through exhibitions, panels, film screenings and a diverse program dedicated to the Ninth Art. Since 2000, each edition has revolved around a central theme, celebrating creativity and storytelling, while honoring extraordinary talents with the Prémios Nacionais de Banda Desenhada (National Comic Awards), including the prestigious Troféu de Honra (Trophy of Honor).
